We Should:

Listen to the voice of the Lord

Psalm29:3-9

Vs. 3-5 -- "The voice of the LORD is upon the waters; The God of Glory thunders,

The LORD is over many waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful, The voice of the LORD is majestic. The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; Yes, the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon."

Vs. 7-9 – "The voice of the LORD hews out flames of fire. The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; The LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the LORD makes the deer to calve, and strips the forest bare, and in His temple everything says, "Glory!"

Hear What the Lord says

Deut. 6:3,4

How can I? Is the voice of the Lord audible? I talk to God all the time, but how can I hear the Lord better?

God spoke through prophets. Old Testament.
God spoke through the Apostles. New Testament.
God speaks to us through His Infallible Word!

Read What the Lord says!

Hebrews 4:12 "God’s Word is Living and Active"
Psalm 119:105 "God’s Word is a lamp and light…"
Proverbs 30:5 "God’s Word is Pure"
Revelation 1:3 "and Blessed is the reader of the Word"

Some may ask: "How do you know that the Holy Bible is the infallible "word of God"?
Our response? "We base it’s infallibility on the power and promise of God through faith. The inspiration of scripture is secured by the everlasting omnipotent Sovereignty of Almighty God and not the fallibility of man. God does not break promises!"

Our response?

Do What the Lord says!

Let the Word dwell in you "richly". Colossians 3:16

What Word? The Word of "Christ".

For God Speaks through His Word, and His promises are True.

Conclusion:

And that the Word became flesh, and Dwelt among us!

John 1:1-5

God cleanses us through His Word. Ephesians 5:25,26
