John 5:28-30

• Note: The word "endure" (grk. Hupomeno) as given in Mark 13:13 is translates "to bear (trials), abide, endure, to take patiently." The rendering here does not constitute the idea that salvation can be gained through endurance. John Mac Author states: "…it is a Spirit-empowered perseverance and proof of the reality of salvation in the one who endures." A correct rendering would be "to bear patiently". Salvation can only be by grace alone through faith, and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
