"Here Am I. Send Me!"
(Isaiah 6:1-8)
Introduction
All of us, who profess to be Christians, have a calling from God to serve. No matter what our secular responsibilities are in life our first allegiance is to God. We may think we are to old, to young, to busy, to poor, to unqualified, to dumb, to sinful, or to tired but, all that God wants is a willing heart; a person who will surrender his life in service.
Isaiah has much to teach us about heeding the call of God.
OUR CALLING IS FROM A HOLY AND POWERFUL GOD. (1-4)
A. "I saw the Lord lofty and exalted the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out" We serve a might and powerful God, One who is able to move heaven and earth. This vision serves to show us, that to serve God is the highest calling in life. It out shines service to family, home, business, or country.
B. Revelation 4:8-11
C. We are called to serve a great God.
II. OUR FIRST CALLING IS TO SALVATION. (5-7)
A. "I am a man of unclean lips then one of the seraphim flew to me and touch my mouth and said your sin is forgiven". Our calling comes when we accept Gods forgiveness through His son Jesus Christ. After we repent and we receive forgiveness, we are changed and ready to heed Gods call to service.
B. Acts 9:17-22
C. Our first calling is to salvation and then to service.
OUR CALLING IS TO SUBMIT. (8)
A. "Whom shall I send Here am I. Send Me!" Our calling does not rely on our talents, position, money, intelligence, personal power or abilities, it relies on our submission to God.
B. Exodus 3:11; 4:1,10 & 20
C. God wants a sincere willingness to serve.
CONCLUSION: God is calling. Will you submit?
