The Purpose of Fellowship

1. Encouragement.

Hebrews 3:13

13. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

2. Support.

Ephesians 4:15-16

15. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.

16. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

3. Prayer.

James 5:16

16. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

4. Sharpen.

Proverbs 27:17

17. As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

5. Bear.

Galatians 6:2

2. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

6. 6. Hospitality.

1 Peter 4:9-10

9. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.

10. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

7. Worship.

Psalms 100

1. Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.

2. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

3. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

4. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

5. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
